Shipping Department |
| After the 1995-96 season, Princeton Nurseries completed the consolidation and expansion of the Shipping facility in Allentown, New Jersey. The end result was a streamlined and highly efficient shipping department, which accomplished a number of achievements: | ||
· The Shipping Department, has the ability to load over 20 trailers a day, as well as stage and maintain over 25,000 trees. Plans are currently underway to expand our shipping yard to stage an additional 5000 trees. · The use of the most advanced equipment, such as loaders equipped with a nursery “jaw”, which speeds up the process of loading trailers and customer pick-ups. · A state of the art computerized irrigation system automatically controls our Shipping Yard, Wholesale Yard, and Container Facility, with a 3.5 million gallon man-made pond that is capable of recovering one-third of all irrigation water. · A half-acre Barn and expanded shade area, acclimates our summer-dug plants in an environmentally controlled location in order to minimize stress. We use the same barn during the winter time as a winter storage facility for B&B plant material. This program has provided us with a sizable volume of plant material available to our customers for early spring shipments. · The water bay was designed to maintain the quality of plant material during shipment by thoroughly watering loads before they leave the Shipping Yard. · An enhanced computer invoicing system speeds up the process of pick-ups and deliveries to our customers. An advanced TDR tracking system is able to track each order as it is Tagged, Dug and made Ready in our Shipping yard. | ![]() | |
